Covering over 49,000 acres, Lake Ouachita is the state's largest manmade lake and according to the EPA, one of the cleanest lakes in the United States. The reservoir is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the shoreline covers some 970 miles. Deer, black bear, wild turkey and other wildlife roam the surrounding forest and the lake provides a wintering home for many eagles. You can enjoy the crystal clear waters by swimming, scuba diving, water skiing, sailing, and fishing. Visitors may choose from a variety of accommodations from luxury lake view condominiums to rustic cabins or inexpensive motel offerings. See our camping section.
