| The Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce will host the town’s 19th annual
Good Ole Days festival at the Front Porch on the Court House Square. The
festivities will start Friday May 23th, at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue
Saturday May 24th, starting at 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM with a special presentation
of HEE HAW starting at 7:00 PM Saturday night.
The events kick off Friday night with a Gospel Sing. Local and out of town
artists will entertain. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy.
Activities planned for Saturday include food vendors; commercial and arts
and crafts booths; car and motorcycle show; live performances of bluegrass,
country and other music. There will be a special presentation of HEE HAW,
Saturday night, starting at 7:00 PM. Bring your lawn chairs and come meet the
Montgomery County Possum Queen!
Available food items will include barbecue, kettle corn, funnel cakes,
cotton candy, lemonade and hot dogs. General festival admission is free.
The car show will feature an impressive array of classic cars and
motorcycles. There will be trophies given this year with numerous categories to
enter.
