Great news for Montgomery County residents
Governor issues statewide face mask mandate
The governor announced on July 16th, that a statewide face mask mandate goes into effect on Monday, July 20th.
It is quite simple. If you cannot maintain six foot social distance with anyone (except your family), you must wear a mask. The mandate does provide for enforcement (gently applied first with warnings) with fines up to $500.
A county could be exempt from the mandate if there have been no active cases in the last 28 days AND if testing continues to be done. Montgomery County does not qualify for that exemption.
As of today there have been 8 positive cases in Montgomery County, two of which are still active.
Arkansas is seeking individuals interested in participating in a COVID-19 vaccine test. Qualified people will be individuals over 65 as well as individuals under 65 who have been working outside their home. You may do a Google search on Arkansas COVID Vaccine for more information/application.
