Mount Ida’s Good Ole Days Festival
May 25-26, 2018 (Memorial Day Weekend)
Live music, car show, vendor booths, food trucks, and children’s activities. The Good Ol’ Days Festival is held on and around the courthouse grounds in downtown Mt. Ida. You can always plant where to pencil in the festival on your calendar because it is always on Memorial Day Weekend.
Annual Sorghum Festival

31st Annual World Championship Quartz Crystal Dig
October 12-13, 2018
Each year, on the second weekend in October, one hundred or more amateur rockhounds come to Mount Ida to compete in the dig in the “Quartz Crystal Capital of the World.” This competition is for Adults and Young Miners (ages 17 and under), and entrants may dig at their choice of two participating mines, “Twin Creek Crystal Mine, and Sweet Surrender Crystal Mine. Diggers get to keep all they find, and submit their best point and cluster each day to compete for crystal adorned award plaques and $2100 in prize money. Awards are presented during a banquet held Saturday evening at 6:00 pm.
Members of gem & mineral or rockhounding clubs can compete against rival clubs. The club with the highest total points and the club with the most members participating will receive one free entry to next year’s event.
Registration is open until 7:00 am on October 12. Entry Fee of $100 covers both days of digging and the participant’s meal at the awards banquet. No refunds after October 1st.
38th Annual Quartz, Quiltz & Craftz Festival: QQC
October 13-14, 2018: Free Admission
Held in conjunction with the World Championship Quartz Crystal Dig, the QQC festival is three shows in one- a Gem & Mineral Show, a Quilt Show, and an Arts & Crafts Show.
