Montgomery County Council for the Performing Arts, MCCPA

In October 1984, a small troupe of would-be Thespians came together at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds near Mount Ida, Arkansas. That meeting set in motion a plan for bringing to their community the opportunity to enjoy live theater. In their constitution the purpose was formally stated as being “operated exclusively for cultural, literary or educational purposes.” The new organization chose the name Montgomery County Council for the Performing Arts, but it has become more familiarly known to the community as MCCPA.

The MCCPA usually has three performances a year. They range from plays, musicals, variety or talent shows, and even dinner theaters.
